❖ Diabetes is a common condition that affects people of all ages.
There are several forms of diabetes in which type 2 is the most
common.
❖ Diabetes is a condition that happens when your blood
sugar (glucose) is too high. It develops when your
pancreas doesn’t make enough insulin, or when your body

manageable with medications and/or lifestyle changes.
❖ In India, there are estimated 77 million people above the age
of 18 years are suffering from diabetes (type 2).
Types of Diabetes:
1. Type 1 Diabetes: This type is an autoimmune disease in
which your immune system attacks and destroys insulin-
producing cells in your pancreas for unknown reasons, in
results pancreas don’t able to produce insulin and blood sugar
level increases too high.
2. Type 2 Diabetes: Type 2 diabetes is a condition when your
