In items 1-2, plot the given points and determine which figure is formed. (2 points each)

3. Find the distance between (−2 ,−1) and (3 , 4) . (2 points)

4. Find the midpoint of side AB of △ ABC with vertices A ( 5 , 4 ) , B(−7 ,−3) and C (3 ,−6) . (3
points)

5. Prove that the points (−1 , 2 ) ,(−4 ,−1) and (3 ,−2) are the vertices of a right triangle. (6
points)

6. Find the point on each median of a triangle that is two-thirds of the distance from the vertex to
the midpoint of the opposite side of the triangle whose vertices are ( 4 , 2 ) , (−4 , 3 ) and (−2 ,−3).

7. Using the concept of slope of a line, prove that the points (−2 , 9 ) , (−4 ,−2 ) ,(1 ,−12) and
(3 ,−1) are vertices of a rhombus. (8 points)

8. In a triangle whose vertices are A ( 2 , 0 ) , B(−1 , 4 ) and C (−2 ,−3). Find the measure of angle

9. Find the equation of the line through ( 3 , 1 ) and (a) parallel, (b) perpendicular to the line

10. Find the equation of the line parallel to x− y −9=0 and passing at a distance 5 √ 2 from the
point (4 , 1). (5 points)
