NETWORK Types
• • LAN (Local Area Network):
Covers small area (home, office). High speed. Example: School or Office Network.
• • WAN (Wide Area Network):
Covers large area (cities, countries). Example: The Internet.
• • MAN (Metropolitan Area Network):
Covers city or town. Bigger than LAN but smaller than WAN.
• • PAN (Personal Area Network):
Small network around a person. Example: Bluetooth connection between phone and earbuds.

• Router: Connects different networks, especially LAN to Internet.
• Switch: Connects devices within a LAN.
