Technology and Smart Choices
Tom is a young consumer who loves technology. He enjoys playing games on his tablet
and watching videos on his laptop. Before buying a new device, Tom always asks questions
and reads reviews.
One day, Tom’s tablet stopped working. Instead of throwing it away, his dad showed him
how to repair it. This helped prolong the life of the tablet and saved money. Tom learned
that fixing things is often better than buying new ones.
At school, Tom learned that old batteries and broken devices can contaminate the
environment if people do not recycle them properly. That is why Tom’s family always
dispose of electronic waste in special recycling bins.
