VOLLEYBALL AS A TEAM SPORT

In 1895, Volleyball was invented by

William Morgan, physical director of
the Young Men’s Christian
Association (YMCA) in Holyoke,
Massachusetts. It was first called as
Mintonette until it was noticed that
the nature of playing the game is
volleying the ball over thus net thus
where the name Volleyball came from.

Volleyball is a team sport which is

composed of 6 players in each team
and 12 players in a playing court.

Fun Fact:
Did you know that in 1916, in the
Philippines, an offensive style of
passing the ball in a high trajectory to
be struck by another player (the set (Everyone will read)
and spike) were introduced.
