Pneumatic Controller Gain and Band Analysis

The document provides information to solve problems related to a pneumatic proportional controller used to control temperature. It gives the initial proportional band and gain values with a temperature range of 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit. It then asks to calculate the new gain and temperature change needed for the valve to go from fully open to closed if the proportional band is changed to 75%. The solution shows the initial proportional band is 8.33% and gain is 2.4 psi/degree F. With the new 75% proportional band, the temperature change needed is 45 degrees Fahrenheit and the new gain is 0.267 psi/degree Fahrenheit.

QUESTION NUMBER 15

A pneumatic proportional controller is used to control temperature within the range of 60 to 120F The controller is adjusted so that the output pressure goes from 3 psi (valve fully open) to 15 psi (valve fully closed) as the measured temperature goes for 70 to 75F with the set point held constant. Find the gain and the proportional band. Find the gain and the temperature change necessary to cause a valve to go from fully open to fully closed, if the proportional band of the controller is changed to 75 percent.

SOLUTION
Proportional Band = = 8.33% Gain= = = 2.4 psi/F 100%

Now we have to assume that the proportional band of the controller is changed to 75 percent. Temperature Change (T) = Proportional Gain Range = 0.75 60 = 45F Gain = = = 0.267 psi/F

on ur fucking face bitch... Do read it... 1. Name d 5 wealthiest ppl in d world. [Link] d last 5 winners of Ms. Universe. [Link] d last 10 ppl who won d Nobel prize. How did u do? The point is, none of us remembers the headlines of yesterday. Even though these ppl must be d best in their fields...applause dies, awards r tarnished and achievements r forgotten...!! Here's another quiz...let's see how dis goes: [Link] 5 teachers who aided ur journey through school. [Link] 5 friends who helped u thru difficult times. [Link] 5 ppl who taught u something worthwhile. [Link] 5 ppl who make u feel special. [Link] 5 ppl u enjoy spending time with. Easier...right? :) D ppl who make a difference in ur life are NOT d ones wid most awards and loads of money... Lyf is full of ordinary ppl who have made d world a better place 4 u! Cherish them!!! Hold them tight!!! Perhaps Sumtyms its special 2 b ordinary!
