Log Rushes

Log and Capture allows you to control a camcorder, set the In and Out points, and preview video from tape. It took me 2 hours to Log and Capture all of the footage for our production. Neat and organised logging and capturing will make the editing process smoother.

Log Rushes The purpose of the Log and Capture in Final Cut Pro is to capture tape based footage.

The controls provided by the Log and Capture window allow you to control a camcorder, set the In and Out points, and preview video from tape. To open the Log and Capture window, you can either press Command + 8 or go to File and then Log and Capture.

It took me 2 hours to log and capture all of the footage for our production. For each clip of our footage I had to name the scene, shot and angle used. I created separate bins for the different scenes. This was to make the editing process easier for me.

This was the least exciting aspect of the post-production process, but neat and organised logging and capturing will make the editing process that much smoother. You'll save time and avoid frustration if you are patient and neat early in the game.
