ALM-28008 Radio Link Failure

Description
This alarm is reported when the BTS detects that the radio link is faulty.

Parameters
Parameter Name Cabinet No. Subrack No. Slot No. Carrier No. Specific Problem

Parameter Description Cabinet number of the faulty board Subrack number of the faulty board Slot number of the faulty board Faulty carrier number Specific Problem of the alarm(Activation Abnormal, Release Abnormal, No Traffic on TRX, Uplink and Downlink Imbalance)

Impact on the System

Alarm Severity Warning Major Alarm Impact The service quality decreases. The network KPIs deteriorate. The service quality decreases.

System Actions
The alarm is automatically cleared when the system detects that the fault in the radio link is rectified.

Possible Causes
The abnormal release ratio of the radio channel exceeds the alarm threshold. The traffic volume is zero in the configured detection period. The BTS detects that the UL level and the DL level differ greatly. The channel type or channel status on the BSC side is inconsistent with that on the BTS side.

Procedure
1. Locate the cause of the alarm on the M2000. a. Locate the cause of the alarm based on the alarm location information. If "Specific Problem" is "Release Abnormal", go to step 2. If "Specific Problem" is "No Traffic on TRX", go to step 3. If "Specific Problem" is "Uplink and Downlink Imbalance", go to step 4. If "Specific Problem" is "Activation Abnormal", go to step 5. 2. Check for the interference and improper data configuration. a. Check the TRX-level counters for interference. The TRX-level counters are the receive quality counter and interference band counter in the measurement report. Y => The interference exists. Go to sub-step b. Y => The interference does not exist. Go to step 5.

b. Eliminate the interference. Check whether the alarm is cleared. Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required. N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to step 5. 3. Check the site and related engineering connections. a. Check whether the site is newly deployed without commercial operation. Y => The site is newly deployed without commercial operation. In this case, the alarm handling is not necessary. N => The site is not a new site. Go to step 4. 4. Check for related alarms and check the modules and cables. a. Check for the correlated alarms of the site on the M2000: 26529 RF Unit VSWR Threshold Crossed 28011 RF Unit RX Channel Fault Y => The correlated alarm exists. Go to sub-step b. N => The correlated alarm does not exist. Go to step 5. b. Clear the correlated alarm according to the relevant handling suggestions. Check whether the alarm is cleared. Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required. N => The alarm is not cleared. Go to step 5. 5. Reset the faulty TRX. a. Obtain the TRX index. Run the MML command RST TRX to reset the faulty TRX on the Web LMT. Check whether the alarm is cleared. Y => The alarm is cleared. No further action is required. N => The alarm is not cleared. Contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
