Inductive Teaching Method Overview

The document discusses the inductive teaching method, which is also known as the scientific method or student-centered method. It begins with making observations and formulating hypotheses, then testing and analyzing in order to draw conclusions. Some common types of inductive methods include inquiry-based learning, discovery learning, problem-based learning, and project-based learning. Advantages include engaging learners and developing higher-order thinking skills, though it requires more time and expert facilitating skills from teachers.

INDUCTIVE TEACHING METHOD

Advantages: The learners are more engaged in the teaching-learning process with our facilitating skills, the learners formulate the generalization. Learning becomes more interesting at the outset because we begin with what they know.

INDUCTIVE TEACHING METHOD

Advantages: It helps the development of our learners higher-order-thinking-skills (HOTS). To see and analyze the same in order to arrive at generalizations requires analytical thinking.

INDUCTIVE TEACHING METHOD

Disadvantages It requires more time and so less subject matter will be covered. It needs much time to lead students to the formulation of generalizations. It demands expert facilitating skills on part of the teacher. He/she needs to ask the right questions and organize answers.
