Variables Weight Rationale

For each 6 week term


Homework 30% Homework is essential for reinforcing and
practice. Must have weight to motivate. Also,
gives information about student progress.
Quizzes 15% Check for understanding and communicate
performance to students.

Unit tests (total for all tests) 40% Used to judge students performance on learning
goals and communicate that performance. Largest
percentage because this is the major check for
learning current objectives.
Term test (6 weeks) 15% Give students opportunity to show their
performance on curriculum goals and force
review of all material.
