Microprocessor Instruction Timing Analysis

The document describes a design problem involving the execution of a microprocessor instruction. The instruction "STA 2065" will store the accumulator value of 4FH in memory location 2065. The student is asked to draw the bus timing diagram showing the T-States and Machine-Cycles needed for this instruction. Given the microprocessor operates at 2 MHz, the student also needs to calculate the time required to execute the instruction.

Design Problem 1
The microprocessor is about to execute the following instruction:

2000 STA 2065

• Assume that the accumulator has a value of 4FH in it. Show the bus
timing diagram and identify the T-States, and Machine-Cycles needed.
(Draw on the paper sideways, there are lots of states).

• Assume that the microprocessor is operating at a frequency of 2 MHz,

calculate the amount of time needed to execute this instruction.
