Understanding Circle Geometry Basics

A circle is defined as a figure where a point revolves around another fixed point at a constant distance. The radius is the distance from the center to the circumference, while the diameter passes through the center and connects two points on the circumference. The area of a circle can be calculated using the formula πr^2, while the circumference is 2πr. Other terms like chords, tangents, and semicircles are also defined.

WHAT IS A CIRCLE
First of all we are to watch a round figure. In this figure a point
revolves around a point. It remains at the same distance. This
figure is known as a circle.
So any figure in which a point revolves
around another point such as it remains at the same distance
from a fixed point it is called a CIRCLE .
Radius of the Circle-:
The distance between the centre and the outer point at the
circumference is known as the RADIUS of the
[Link] remains the constant in the same circle.

Diameter of the circle-:

The distance between two points situated at the
circumference of the circle but passing through the center
of the circle is known as the DIAMETER of the circle.

Area of the circle-:

The space covered by the whole circle is known as the
AREA of the circle. The formula to calculate area is as
follow:-
Area of the circle =π R2

Circumference of the circle-:

The round distance around the circle is
known as the circumference of the circle.
Circumference of the circle =2 π R

Chord of the circle:-

Any line cutting the circle at two points
inside the circle is known as the chord of the circle.
Half circle:-
The diameter of the circle divides the circle
In two parts .Each part is called the HALF
CIRCLE

Tangent of the circle:-

Any line touching the circle at any one
point is known as the TANGENT of the circle.
