Germantown Master Plan Urban Design Guidance

Subject: Additional Urban Design Guidance for the Germantown Master Plan

Area Wide Recommendations

1. Add additional parking guidance on Page 16 to address the potential surface parking in interim
development proposals as follows:

“Surface parking shall be located behind or to the side of proposed development and screened
with building extensions, low walls or evergreen hedges.”

2. Bring forward historic and cultural resources graphics and photographs from the Appendixes 10
and 11 into the Area Wide Recommendations in order to highlight these resources as themes to
be incorporated in to new development on Page 16.

3. Add an Amenity List as Appendix 15 of the Plan in order to provide a reference of needed
amenities that will enhance community identity. See attached Amenity List.
