Impact of Cloud over Traditional Computing

Abstract:
Cloud Computing is a fast emerging technology that is rapidly revolutionizing field of Computer Science. Although interesting and astounding in its own right, fact is, cloud computing is still a shade premature to be in actual competition with traditional computing. In this research we will determine whether the targeted users of cloud computing believe that this new technology can replace the traditional style of computing or not. To achieve our goal we will be studying the impact of cloud computing over traditional computing. In the most generalized perspective, they both have an equal effect on each other, as both have their distinguishing merits and critical demerits. Our research will be based on factors such as: (1) Protection, (2) Security, (3) Storage, (4) Accessibility, (5) Cost, and (6) Portability.

Introduction:
The computing field today, is growing very rapidly with the support of many emerging technologies, one of these technologies is the concept of cloud computing. The traditional computing allows a user to have large data, but there is a limit to it, whereas in cloud a user doesn t need large data of his own, as he can use the data from the internet, without copying it. This new concept is creating a revolution in the field of computer science as everything is getting revamped, paving the way, for future cloud computing revolution. Our work will be based on surveys which will anticipate the future work that is expected in this field and we will also make a comparison between traditional and cloud computing, through which we can conclude that cloud computing will ever be able to take the place of traditional computing or not.
