Community Partners Internship Program

Paid Positions available for the 2011/2012 academic year


The Steans Center for Community-based Service Learning provides education opportunities to DePaul students that are based in Vincentian community values. The Center seeks to develop mutually beneficial, reciprocal relationships with community organizations. The Community Partners Internship, a program within the Steans Center, places Federal work study eligible DePaul students at partner organizations throughout the Chicagoland area. The program aims to provide students with first-hand experience and application in the nonprofit sector. Internships are generally year-long, with positions ranging from administrative assistant, to research assistant to graphics/media designer. The following are paid internship opportunities currently available through the CPI program for the 2011-2012 academic year:

Centro Romero, Youth Program Intern Providence Family Services, Assistant La Casa Norte, Intern

Lolita Lebron Family Learning Center, Child Care Worker Telpochcalli, Community Education Project Assistant Heartland Alliance - Marjorie Kolver Center, Case Management Intern REST, Special Events Intern Division Street Business Association, Administrative Assistant

Requirements Work 15-20 hours a week Must be enrolled as a full time DePaul University student Must be federal work study eligible Must attend monthly professional development/reflection sessions Must be willing to travel (positions located off campus)
