Using FileZilla for FTP Transfers

To configure FTP using FileZilla on Odin at Portland State University: download and install FileZilla, enter the host "odin.pdx.edu", your OID username and password, click QuickConnect to connect, then upload files to the public_html directory to share them online via a URL using your student username.

FTP Using FileZilla Instructions for Configuring WS FTP First Download and install a freeware FTP client from

m Filezilla at [Link] 1. Start the FileZilla Client program 2. Enter Host: [Link] 3. Enter UserName: enter your OID userid 4. Enter Password: enter your OID password 5. Port can be kept blank. 6. Click QuickConnect

7. You will be connected to the FTP server.

8. You can now begin to transfer files. 9. To share the files you need to upload those files in public html directory. 10. You can create your own webpage and upload inside public html as [Link]. This webpage would be your default page that is displayed. 11. The URL to your website would be for example: [Link] (use your student name in place of komalp) 12. Presentation or other files can directly be shared using the URL. Example: [Link] (the name of the file to be shared should appear after / following the user name)
