Volume of Shells Method Explained

This document provides formulas for calculating the volume (Vshell) of shells using integration. It gives the general formulas for calculating Vshell where the radius is a function of x or y, and the altitude/height is another function of x or y. It then works through 8 examples of using the formulas to calculate Vshell for shells with different radius and altitude functions, where the shells are rotated around either the x-axis or y-axis.
