What is this module about?
Say for example, you’re friend’s talks about computer and internet all the time, they
become popular at school and with your teachers, and you have no idea what he/she is
talking about? Would you want that feeling? Knowing nothing about a certain modern
technology that you know you have the right to know?
This is what this module is all about; to know the basics of computer. This module will
focus mainly on the Windows Operating system which is the most popular operating
system used in the world. This will guide you in all aspects of the basic learning on
introduction to computers which is basically intended for your learning in First Year
Computer.
The Computer I Module: Introduction to Computer: Windows OS is broken into three
units: What are the parts of the Computer? ; Operating System and Desktop; and Using
Windows within an Operating System.
The information covered in the first unit will familiarize you with some common
vocabulary and will give you a general idea how computers receive and process
information.
