Stability Analysis of Sampled-Data System

This document discusses analyzing the stability of a sampled-data system transfer function. It asks the reader to (1) determine the z-transform and characteristic equation, (2) use bilinear transformation and Routh's criterion to find the stable range of K with a sampling time of 0.25s, and (3) construct a root locus plot for the system.

Consider the forward loop transfer function in the sampled-data system as:

K
G(s) =
s ( s + 4)
(a) Determine the corresponding z –transform G(z) and the characteristic
equation for this system.
(b) Using the bilinear transformation and Routh’s Stability Criterion, determine
the range of K for stability when the sampling time T = 0.25 s.
(c) Construct the root locus plot for this system.
