SCIENCE
The course is a comprehensive study of the
nature and scope of political science and the
relationship with other social sciences. It also
deals with citizenship, forms of government,
and basic aspects of the New Constitution,
public opinion, and political parties and a
portion of Local Government.

PHILIPPINE GOVERNMENT
WITH NEW CONSTITUTION
 This is a discipline with the study of the
various forms of government that evolved
from pre-colonial forms of government up
to the present time. On the constitutional
aspect, the course gives emphasis on the
amended provisions on the declaration of
principles and the state policies, bill of
rights, constitutional commissions, local
government, social justice and human
rights and education and
family.
 PLS 201
PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURE
 The course deals with the fundamental
parliamentary rules and procedures with
emphasis on quorum, meeting and
session, debates, committees and
committee reports, voting, nominations
and elections as well as the kind and
classification of motions of the deliberative
assemblies. It includes the characteristics
and precedence of motion and progress.
 PLS 208
COMPARATIVE GOVERNMENT &
POLITICS
 This course deals with the basic principles of
law in relation to contracts and
obligations. It involves discussion of the
nature sources, kinds and extinguishments
of obligation. The course deals, likewise,
with the nature, elements, characteristics
of contracts including defective contracts
and other miscellaneous
topics relevant to the course.


LEGAL PHILOSOPHY
 This 3-unit course is the study of the
different philosophical approach
concerning the nature and elements of law
as well as the study of the significant role
of law in the proper ordering of the society.


FUNDAMENTALS OF LABOR
LAWS
 The course covers the salient provisions of
labor laws in the Philippines with emphasis
on pre-employment, recruitment, learners,
working conditions, rest periods, wages,
maternity benefits, labor organizations,
retirements, lockouts, arbitration and
strikes unfair labor practices and all
implementing rules and
guidelines.


ANCIENT AND MEDIEVAL
POLITICAL THEORIES
 The subject involves the study of political
theories during ancient and medieval
times to determine their influence to the
current political undertakings of the state.


MODERN POLITICAL THEORIES
 After a consideration of the ancient and
medieval political theories, an extensive
study of the modern political theories is
imperative to resolve current political
issues to advance the political interest of
the state.


GOVERNMENT & POLITICS OF
SOUTHEAST ASIAN COUNTRIES
 This subject is about the study of the
government of Southeast Asian countries
with emphasis on the political, cultural and
economic, social and developmental
aspect brought about by different system
of government as observed in different
countries.


INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS
 The course will present the varied
governmental systems observed and
adopted by countries all over the world. A
comparison of these different political
machineries will help the student
understand and contemplate on the
advantages and disadvantages of each
governmental mechanism.

INTRODUCTION TO LAW
 This course is intended to give political
science students basic knowledge of
different kinds of laws. It comprises basic
laws on persons, marriage, family
relations, properties, obligations,
contracts, criminal law and administrative
law.
 PLS 403-404
POLITICAL ANALYSIS AND
RESEARCH
 The course is designed to provide principles,
methods and techniques involved in the
methods of research writing in the field of
Political Science. It covers topics like
research problems, theoretical/conceptual
frame works. The first part of the research
covers Chapters 1 – 3 of research writing.
The second part involves the continuation
of the research project.

 PLS 417
INTERNATIONAL LAW
 As a constitutional mandate, the Philippines
adheres to the generally accepted
principles of international law as part of
the law of the land; thus, in this subject
the students will learn the various
international precepts and reconcile
conflicts of laws.

 PLS 408-409
INTERNSHIP (PRACTICUM)
 The course will expose the students to
various political settings in the three
branches of government, i.e., executive
department, legislative and judicial
department. The student must accomplish
300 hours of practicum work (100 Hours in
each department) while at the same time
discussing their practicum class where
they should meet their adviser/coordinator
at least twice a month.
 HI 101
PHILIPPINE HISTORY
 The course is an introductory course on history
and culture of the Filipino people. It is
designed to give the students basic
knowledge about their country and culture.
The course combines the chronological and
topical approaches. Thus, the major historic
periods are treated in sequential order.
However, within each major historic period,
the discussion will proceed according to
topics. Rizal should be studied in the context
of the broad sweep of Philippine history,
particularly,
the late 19th century emergence of the
Filipino nation. His two novels should be read
in this light.

RIZAL LIFE, WORKS & WRITING
 This is a significant study of the life, works,
writings of Jose Rizal as our National Hero,
his various encounters with people and
places he visited and the achievements he
gathered, to honor him as a man of many
talents and one of the great men of Asia
and the world. His studies in the
Philippines and abroad exemplifying
intelligence in all aspects of discipline, his
imprisonment trial and his view and
principle regarding the revolution will
likewise be considered in this course.

 SS 104
SOCIO-ANTHROPOLOGY W/
FAMILY PLANNING
 The subject is an introduction to the basic
concepts in sociology and anthropology,
which stresses interrelationship of man
with his society. It includes the study of
personality, culture, social organizations,
social changes, current national
development and present problems that
could endanger the future of human
society.
