Understanding Intestinal Infections

Intestinal infections are characterized by pathogens located in the intestine and transmitted via the fecal-oral route when microbes from feces contaminate food or water. They typically occur more during warm seasons due to environmental factors enabling transmission. Controlling intestinal infections involves sanitary measures to prevent transmission through food, water, insects, or soiled hands, as well as detecting and removing infected individuals from places serving food.
