Now that you have read and learned about the form of sonnets, your
assignment is to write your own sonnet. The theme for your
sonnet can be whatever you want. Your sonnet needs to follow the
Shakespearean form—it should be 14 lines, 10 syllables per line, abab-
cdcd-efef-gg rhyme scheme. Remember that your sonnet should end
with a rhyming couplet. You will have Thursday and Friday to work on
these sonnets, and they are DUE Friday by the end of class.
