Overview of Genex
Probe
The Genex Probe and Genex Assistant for drive tests are part of the Genex
series. The Genex series can work with many systems, such as GSM, WCDMA,
EDGE, CDMA, and WiMAX. The modules for the WCDMA and GSM systems
have found wide commercial use.
The Genex series is now developed to V200R002SPC140 to serve the WiMAX
system. And it can support Sequans, GCT, Runcom, Beceem chips now.
The Genex series uses the following tools to provide a platform for the
network planning and optimization software of Huawei:
Drive test tools
Genex Probe
Genex Assistant

Operation flow
Connect to the Probe hard dog and MS (GPS)
Setup the Test Plan (optional) ;
Import the engineer parameters, open the map
window and import the test map (optional);
Open the information windows;
Begin to test and record;
Stop the test in the end.

1. Configure MS and GPS in Device Configuration.

(1) Add MS:
Click + The Device Config dialog box is displayed.
Select MS from the Type list, and then choose the Dongle type then go to
next step

The network information of the terminal is displayed, such as IP
address.
Click [Link] MS is successfully added.
Some dongle need to Fulfill the Agent IP address (based on the Dongle
type)

(2) Add the GPS:
Click +.
The Device Config dialog box is displayed.
Select GPS from the Type list, and then click Next.

Select 4800 from the Baudrate list and COM1 from the Com Port
list, and then click OK.
The GPS is successfully added.

From the Select Sheet drop-down list box, select the sheet where
engineering parameters are recorded.
After the engineering parameters are imported, if the headers in the
engineering parameters file are consistent with the headers in the
Probe, the Probe automatically matches the headers. If they are
inconsistent, you need to match the headers manually. To manually
match the headers, perform the following operations:
Double-click the header that does not automatically match, for example, PCI in the
figure.
In the displayed MAP DIALOG dialog box, select the header that matches PCI.

(1) Choose View > OutdoorMap.
The Map window is displayed.
Adding Map Choose open
