SITE COUNCIL NOMINATIONS

The Boxford PTO is conducting elections for the 2010-2011 Spofford Pond School Site
Council.

School Councils were mandated by the 1993 Education Reform Law to act in an advisory
capacity to the principal. It is composed of parents, teachers, and a community representative.
The School Site Councils meet once a month, typically on the second Monday from
3:30-5:00 p.m., with subcommittees meeting other times during the year as needed.

Any parent with a child in Spofford Pond School during 2010-2011 school year is eligible for
election to the Spofford Council. The term for a site council member is 3 years.

For the upcoming 2010-2011 school year, The Spofford Pond School Site Council has three
(3) parent openings.

If interested, please fill out the form below and drop it off at the Spofford Pond school’s office in
an envelope addressed SITE COUNCIL NOMINATIONS by Friday, May 21, 2010. You can
also submit the information requested in the form via email to Karen Hussey, PTO President,
at thehusseys@[Link]

If we receive more nominations than seats available, we will hold elections the following week.
Ballots will be sent to the parents via email on Monday, May 24, 2010 and must be returned to
the school office by Wednesday, June 2, 2010. The first meeting of the newly elected Site
Council members for Spofford Pond School is Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at 3:30 pm.

We will announce the new site council members via the Cole Connection and the
Spofford Times.
