AP1. Instructional Design and Lesson Planning. Applying concepts from human development and
learning theories, the effective educator consistently:
1a. Aligns instruction with state-adopted standards at the appropriate level of rigor;
During my level two internship I have based my entire lesson planning around
fifth grade standards from Cpalms. The first part of my lesson planning is
finding state standards to form my lesson around and then conduct the
rest of the planning aspect after pin pointing standards.
AP2. The Learning Environment. To maintain a
student-centered learning environment that is safe,
organized, equitable, flexible, inclusive, and
collaborative, the effective educator consistently:
2d: Respects students cultural linguistic and family
background
During my first supervisor observation we talked
about subjects in discussion that were hard such as
beliefs, and political ideas from a Time for Kids
article. During an article about hunting of animals I
had the students pick a side of should or should not
hunting be allowed. I called on a student whose
grandpa takes him hunting. When some students
started to get fussy about this, I called for a respect
check of the class and allowed the student to
continue explaining. After, I made sure to reiterate to
the students that this is his upbringing and is very
interesting that he has such a hands on first view on
hunting that we do not have. The student felt so
confident during the lesson that speaking out on this
touchy subject was not hard at all. All students
listened and respected our students upbringings.
2g: Integrates current information and communication technologies
During my second formal observation with my supervisor I incorporated information on poetry and using
technology such as a PowerPoint and also lit2go, which is an auditory reader of short stories and poetry. I
believe that this form of communication is very new to myself in the classroom and I would like to master this
over my next internship.
2h: Adapts the learning environment to accommodate the differing needs and diversity of students
The way that I would adapt the
learning environment to accommodate the different needs of my students was by first finding out how they each
learn best and if there were any aids I was able to apply in my lessons to better my students learning. Then, I
took this data and applied it to my lesson plans. During my formal 2 I provided both an auditory portion as well
as a visual portion. I did this after finding out that most of my students are either auditory learners or visual
learners. The outcome of this lesson was very beneficial after reviewing data of the exit tickets.
AP3. Instructional Delivery and Facilitation. The effective educator consistently utilizes a deep and
comprehensive knowledge of the subject taught to:
3a: Deliver engaging and challenging lesson
While planning my small group lesson plans on vocabulary instruction and strategies I would plan for lessons
that were challenging my students in order to learn the information best.
Also, during my second formal observation I was given the idea to plan a lesson with poetry. I incorporated
imagery and art work into the lesson due to my students not having creative lessons and seeing art in their
classroom. This lesson plan was one of my best turn out and the students produced poetry that was more than I
even thought they were going to produce in the lesson.
I created most of my note taking guides, exit tickets, and parts of lessons.

appropriate technology, to provide comprehensible instruction, and to
teach for student understanding
During my second observation I used different forms of resources and strategies that used
technology. Also, during my small groups toward the end of the semester
we used computers and my ipad as a resource for our learning and additional student
understanding. We used the app and computer tool [Link] and the [Link] on both

After any observation in my level two internship I self reflected in field notes before discussing with my
supervisor or my CT. Also, after my observations and post conferences I write a self-reflection and always
include strengths as well as weaknesses or areas needing improvement for next time. I feel like by doing this I
am road mapping my experiences as an intern and as a pre service teacher.
