Transcript/Attendance Reflection
My transcripts as well as my attendance record show a very distinct type of student. A
high achiever, with a rather spotty attendance record. While I am not proud of my many
absences, they were for legitimate illnesses, and not the hallmark of a lazy student. My
attendence record could be seen by some as a sign of a student who does not care, when in fact it
is the opposite. It terribly upsets me to miss school, but some individuals do not look past the
numbers. But I would rather focus on my transcripts because this is the section that contains the
most information.
My grades are very good. Great in fact. They show mostly As with a smattering of Bs. I
wish I had managed to acquire straight As, but this would be a difficult task for me, if I was to
balance a social and family life as well, especially for my math classes. So I feel like this aptly
does describe my educational abilities, but I also believe that this is unable to fully reflect my
capabilities outside of my test taking skills.
A grade can measure how well I recall information, and whether or not I participate in a
class or do my homework, but it has some faults. It cannot measure how long study for, or how
hard I work, only for the information to illude me on test day. Also, it is only able to measure my
formatted skills on the curriculum. But it cannot measure my creative talents in my own opinion.
In conclusion, I believe my attendance and transcripts can partially do my capabilities
justice, I do believe it does not fully explain my talents. It measures my intelligence and my
abilities based on only a part of me and my skills.
