Stoughton Man Charged with 5th OWI

A 43-year-old man from Stoughton, Wisconsin was arrested and charged with his 5th offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. A Dane County Sheriff's Deputy conducted a traffic stop after observing the man's vehicle crossing the centerline. Field sobriety tests were performed and the man was arrested. He was then transported to a hospital for a blood draw before being booked into the Dane County Jail on the felony OWI charge.

STOUGHTON MAN CHARGED WITH 5TH OFFENSE OWI

Madison, WI – A Dane County Sheriff’s Deputy arrested Carl H. Burch, age 43 of


Stoughton, for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated (OMVWI) – 5th Offense.

At approximately 5:23 p.m., a traffic stop was initiated on County Highway B in the Town of
Pleasant Springs after a Deputy observed Burch’s vehicle crossing the centerline. Field
sobriety tests were conducted and Burch was subsequently placed under arrest. After
taking Burch to the hospital for a blood draw, he was booked into the Dane County Jail on
the felony charge.
