A NEW WAY
Insulin Dependent Diabetics
There is a new way to take insulin. Throw away your needles -- this new method is
completely painless.
No more shots!
Avoid the pain from shots of the past and the bruising that accompanies them. Forget
the uncomfortable stares when meal time arrives. It is now time to give yourself
insulin with a simple eye drop.
Absorption through the eyes
Simply apply the drops of insulin on the eye; the body absorbs it just as it would an
injection but without the discomfort.
The Proof
As a type 1 diabetic, I understand the pain and stress that accompanies multiple daily
injections. I have experienced the problems that insulin pump malfunctions can
present. This is why I was thrilled to have an accident that made me realize that there
was another way.
One day while loading my pump with insulin the needle came loose from the syringe
and sprayed insulin across my face and into my eyes. I rinsed my eyes afterwards. I
checked my blood glucose levels and had a snack to be cautious. My sugar began to
drop and I needed to eat more to maintain. Throughout the remainder of the day I
continued to drop without any injections. From that moment on I knew that there were
alternative methods to injecting insulin.
Pain Free Insulin Application
Insulin eye drops come in a small bottle
with a dropper connected to the lid.
Simply squeeze the rubber top to load
the desired amount of insulin into the
tube. The dropper is labeled to identify
the number of units that will be
administered. The droplets are then
placed into the eye. Simple and Easy!
