Classroom Problem Statement Guide

Problem Statement Instructions

Think about a problem statement you would like to work on in your classroom. Think about the
course content. What you are looking for is a way to implement strategies and practices
introduced in this class to solve a problem in your classroom. Based upon your research, you
will begin to think about possible ways to use the course contents to solve the problem.
After identifying a problem or challenge in your classroom, you describe the setting, state the
problem and why you want to solve it. This begins the planning the inquiry stage of the
problem-based inquiry process. This is within the conceptual framework where clarifying,
examining teaching and practices in the classroom, and thinking of how to improve it with new
learning from the course takes place. The main objective is to select an issue in order that you
can maximize your teaching and extend students learning.
Write a minimum of 500 words completing the problem statement form.
