I am writing to recommend Michelle Lohmann to your program. I have known Michelle for
approximately two years now as a student in our M.A. program in Communication. She has also
taken two classes from me. Based on her performance in those classes, as well as other faculty
observations of her, I can tell you that she is considered to be among the best students in our very
rigorous program.*

Michelle is bright, articulate, poised, and hard working; she also writes extremely well. In
addition, I very much appreciate Michelle’s ability to effectively translate communication
research into practical applications and forums. She also brings collaborative skills, writing
skills, and analytic skills to the table on top of her strong interests in health communication and
promotion. I think she will make an excellent addition to your staff, and I cannot say enough
good things about her.
