ESCAPED PATIENT

Danville Police are looking for a patient who escaped from the Southern Virginia Mental Health
Institute this evening.

At approximately 6:36pm today, Toby George Smith, age 42 of Danville escaped custody from
the Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute located on Taylor Drive. Smith is further
described as a white male, 5’6”, 197 pounds , with dark brown hair, green eyes, and wearing
glasses. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans. Smith is extremely violent and
considered dangerous. Please do not approach Toby Smith if you see him. Call 911
immediately.
