Paragraph

Causes of water pollution

Water pollution can be caused by household (domestic) waste including
rubbish and sewage. Many factories produce poisonous chemical waste
products which are discharged into the rivers, streams dams and the sea.
Washing powders, dishwashers and powders used in toilets pollutes the
water. The use of pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilisers pollutes
the water. Oil spillage from oil tankers and illegal washing at the sea of
storage tanks of oil-tankers also pollutes the water. (5)
