JUNIOR LIVESTOCK RABBIT RULES

Show Rules:
1. See Junior Division General Livestock Rules.

2. All rabbits must be owned and cared for by the exhibitor by May 1st of the current
VCCExpo year.
3. Must be checked in 2 hours prior to show time. The Best of Breed, Best of Opposites of
Breed, and Grand Champion Meat Pen will remain at the fairgrounds for the duration of the
Expo. Any exhibitor may leave a limit of 5 entries, as space permits. Each exhibitor will be
responsible for his/her feeding and watering of their rabbits. Rabbits will be released
through the Superintendent.
4. Each rabbit must have a legible tattoo in the left ear. If the tattoo cannot be read by judge,
your animal will not be shown. It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to get their rabbits to the
show table.
5. Classification will be done by breed, weight and age. They will be judged according to the
ARBA standards per breed. A fur class will be also judged accordingly and the rabbit must
be entered in its regular class.

BREED CLASSES
1. 4 Class Breeds: Seniors – 6 months of age or older
Juniors – under 6 months of age

2. 6 Class Breeds: Seniors – 8 months of age or older


Intermediates – 6 months or older but under 8 months of age
Juniors - under 6 months of age
3. There will be separate classes for bucks and does in each of the above classifications.

JUNIOR RABBIT MEAT PEN


1. Must comply with the United States Department of Agriculture Wholesome Meat Act and
Wholesome Assurance Statement.
2. The exhibitor must own and care for the doe by May 1st of the current VCCExpo year.

3. Meat Pen: Consists of 3 rabbits all the same breed and variety.
Age limit: Not over 10 weeks.
Weight limit: Each rabbit not over 5 lbs. and the total weight of pen not over 15 lbs.
4. The date of birth must be written on the entry form for all meat pens.
5. Rabbits will not be butchered.
