Distillation Column Design Calculations

This document discusses estimating dew point and bubble point using Excel to determine the feasibility of distillation. It calculates the dew point of the distillate to be 79.05°C and bubble point of the bottom product to be 119.67°C at a system pressure of 20 kPa. Using equations from a textbook, it determines the minimum theoretical number of stages required is 21 to produce 75,000 metric tons/year of cyclohexanol.

From journal, it says that distillation is not feasible at atmospheric pressure.

According to journal also, the system pressure must be under vacuum
to make the distillation feasible.
So, we take 20 KPa as our system pressure.
