Method Statement for Sea Wall Repair

The intent of this method statement is to describe the procedure to be followed during
repair of precast sea wall panels against minor corrosion.

Work Sequence:
o

Marked and cut the located areas by a minimum depth of 15mm where minor
corrosion noticed using diamond blade cutter.

Remove dust, loose particles, grease, etc. which may affect the adhesion of
filling materials.

Soak the surface before receiving the repair material to have a moisture
transfer between the repair material and the existing concrete.

Fill the gap by two layer of overlay; first layer to be filled by epoxy based repair
mortar concresive 2200 to act as waterproof membrane to minimize the ingress of
water/ chlorine in the concrete, and second layer to be overlaid by polymer
modified sealer SikaRep fine when the first layer has got hard enough.

Compact the repair area by mason trowel to ensure that the entire void is
filled.

Apply curing compound.

HSE and Risk Assessment:


o

The filling and closing of precast sea wall panels will be performed within the area
allocated inside the production yard.

Basic PPE will be worn by all employees (Safety Shoes, Hand Gloves, Hard Hat and
High Visibility Vest)

The working place will be kept clean and tidy.

All

works

will

be

carried

out

in

accordance

with

EHSS

requirements/

manuals/specifications of owner/contractor/subcontractor.
