Educational Technology Course Reflection

This course aimed to balance learning theories with educational technology applications by having students design instructional media and tools using hands-on skills in educational technology. Students demonstrated how educational technology can be applied in various subject areas through practical projects, and learned about using high quality standards in technology integration from their dedicated lecturer. Educational Technology Reflection

The main objective for this course, was aimed at the educational uses of Information and
Communication Technology (ICT), which allowed for the balancing of learning theories and
educational technology applications. The successful completion of this course was made possible
through the direct hands-on skills of educational technology acquired via the design and
production of the instructional media and tools. The integration of the learning theories with
educational technological applications is rather empirical within the 21st century classroom.
The demonstration of the practical application of educational technology which can be
employed in any area of specialization was an inspiring experience which I endeavour to
continue throughout my teaching profession. The use of high quality and standard were
significantly reinforced in the used of educational technology within the classroom by our
lecturer. The completion of this course would not have been possible without her selfless
dedication and passion which transcend throughout the teaching and learning activities both in
and outside of the classroom, as well as our face-to-face and online experiences.
The knowledge and skills gained through the practical experiences of this course
provided the basis for me to enhance the use of technology in science with a new approach. This
course lends itself towards the completion of a thorough research on the expectations of teachers
within the classroom in this advanced technological age. The discussion forum on schoology
provided a wealth of experience of communication and interaction on a virtual level. The
computer-based and the web-based instructional support tools were in-lined with the ISTE NETS
standards of educational technology. This was a crucial aspect in the completion of these tools
and media as it fosters teachers preparation for the 21st century classroom within this
contemporary digital era. This course has equipped me with knowledge and skills in educational

technology in a way through which I am inspired to utilize technology within the classroom from
a new perspective in an effective and efficient manner as I continue to contribute towards the
education of our future generations.
