Celebrating Academic Achievements in High School

Ceselie Ybarra received two awards in her junior year of high school that made her feel proud. The first was for being an outstanding student and respecting her teachers. The second was for maintaining straight B's and a high GPA. Receiving these awards lifted her spirits and made her feel she was capable of higher accomplishments. Seeing how happy her family was for her victories was bittersweet. The awards now remind her that if she pushed herself, she could achieve more at her new high school.

Pride Sample
Through out my life Ive been proud of a lot of things I have done or accomplished. The
most thing that I am proud of throughout my high school years is when I went to
yosemite my jr year and I received two awards in one month. The first award I got was
for being an outstanding student and respecting my teachers, that made me special and
appreciated because its nice to get recognized for the way your personality is set towards
others. My second award I received was having straight bs and a high gpa, this award
made me feel better of myself in so many ways because it showed me I had the ability to
push myself to higher things. The reason why I picked this as my pride sample because it
made me feel good about myself and also because I hadnt received an award since fifth
grade and to get two in one month just lifted my spirit up so high. It made me feel like I
accomplished something throughout my junior year, and to see how happy my parents
and grandparents were to see me get them was a bittersweet feeling. When I see these
awards at my house it reminds me if I could do it there why cant I do it at merced high?
and thats the thing I can I know I can if I push and push myself. That is why I chose my
two awards for my pride sample because they made me feel a special feeling about
myself and the way I am.
