ESL Teaching Materials Evaluation Checklist

This checklist evaluates teaching and learning materials for English as a second language students. It contains 5 items to rate: 1) whether the materials' aims align with lesson objectives and student needs, 2) how the content is organized and whether the organization suits students and teachers, 3) whether the language content like vocabulary level is suitable, 4) if listening materials cover intended skills and are well-recorded with clear speech, and 5) if topics are within the syllabus and familiar/enriching to students. Each item contains criteria to rate on a scale of 1 to 4 from poor to excellent.
