RF Technology for Vehicle Speed Control

This document proposes a system to automatically reduce vehicle speeds using RF technology in restricted areas. The system would place RF transmitters in areas like school zones and hills that emit a signal when a vehicle enters the restricted area. Vehicles would have receivers that detect the transmitter's signal, which would then trigger a designed module to automatically reduce the vehicle's speed. The goal is to increase safety by ensuring drivers reduce speeds without having to see signage or be policed, as accidents sometimes still occur even with signage or police presence. The proposed system aims to more practically monitor speed in restricted small areas continuously.

AUTOMATIC VEHICLE SPEED REDUCTION

USING RF TECHNOLOGY.
Abstract:
Nowadays the drivers drive vehicles at high speed even in
speed limited areas without considering the safety of the public. We lose our
valuable life by making small mistake while driving in school zone, hills area, and
even in streets. So in order to avoid such kind of accidents and to alert the drivers
the Road Transport Department have placed the signboards. But sometimes it may
not be possible to view that kind of signboards and there is a chance for accident.
Even the traffic police are not able to control them with full effect. Also it is not
practical to monitor these small areas throughout.
In this project we will design a system which will automatically
control the speed of vehicles by changing the upper speed limit of the vehicles. In
this project we place RF transmitters at the restricted areas like small lanes, school
zones, hill curves and a receiver will be placed on the vehicle. When the receiver
receives the signal from transmitter then that vehicle is entered into the restricted
area and the designed module will automatically reduce the speed of the vehicle.
