Socrative: A Quizzing Tool
The purpose of this lesson is for the students to know how to use Socrative for
educational purposes in the classroom. I chose this tool because it was simple to set up, free and
is a wonderful tool for assessing your students on where they are during a lesson.
The steps to using Socrative are the following:
1.
2.
3.
4.
Type [Link] into the address bar on your browser.
Once the home page has come up, click on the Create Free Account button.
Complete the registration fields as directed.
Once all the fields are completed, agree to the websites usage terms and click on the
Submit button.
5. Once the Welcome page has come up, you will click on view the user guide.
6. Once you have familiarized yourself with an overview, you will close the user guide and
select what task you would like to do.
7. There are four tasks to choose from: Start a Quiz, Quick Question, Space Race (which
would be a good activity for groups of students to collaborate on), and Exit Ticket (which
gives you the results of the quizzes and quick questions).
8. Each task is a self-guided entry. Just follow and input the information you would like to
ask the students and the site will form the quiz.
9. Once the quiz, quick question, or space race is finished being formed, provide your
students (assuming they have an account already set up, if not, then assist them with
setting up their own account) with the room id and quiz name for them to complete the
quiz.
10. Once quiz is completed, you can opt on delivery method of the data. Choose an option
and wait for results.
