Beliefs: The beliefs of East Paulding High School are to ensure a right to receive an education
in a safe, structured, and supportive environment that is conducive to learning, be actively
involved in students education, and building strong positive relationships that motivates and
encourages student achievement and success.
Course Objective/Description: This course is designed to use algebra to deepen and extend
understanding of geometric knowledge from prior grades. The critical areas, organized into units,
deepen and extend understanding of linear relationships, in part by contrasting them with
exponential phenomena, and in part by applying linear models to data that exhibit a linear trend.
The final unit in the course ties together the algebraic and geometric ideas studied.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS: The following requirements are essential for each student to
successfully perform each day in this class.
Each student must have and maintain a three-ring binder notebook with plenty of paper, and it
must be divided into four sections: warmups, notes, clwk/hwk, and tests/quizzes.
Each student must bring their notebook, pencils, and calculators (TI-36X Pro) to class on a
daily basis
Each student must attend class everyday and be punctual. In the event of an excused absence,
students are responsible for any makeup work missed. If an assessment is missed, schedule
an appointment to make it up (this applies for excused absences only). Students are expected
to take class notes and keep them organized along with homework assignments, quizzes,
tests, handouts, etc
Every student is required to be prepared to participate in class
All students caught cheating in any manner will receive a zero and a referral to the
administrator. So academic honesty is expected on every assignment.
CLASSROOM POLICIES:
1. Respect your teacher, classmates, and yourself.
2. Follow directions the first time they are given.
3. Refrain from doing anything that will disrupt the learning process.
Mastery Plan: Academic success and proficiency of standards are goals set forth for all
students. Given that individuals learn in different ways and at different rates, our CCGPS Math
Mastery Plan will provide the necessary support to achieve such goals. The Mastery Plan is
outlined below:
All students are allowed to improve any grade on summative assessments.
A student electing to recover a summative assessment must make the teacher aware of his/her
intention and must meet the prescribed deadlines.
The student must satisfactorily complete all remedial work and is strongly urged to attend tutoring
(at least one session, but more if necessary).
Time is allotted during the school week to take the alternative assessment.
GRADING POLICY: Grades will be based on the following:

GA Milestones.........................20%
Grade scale is as follows:
A = 90 100%
B = 80 89%
C = 70 79%
F = 0 69%
Web Page: The class website is designed as a tool for both students and parents and are a
source of important information about a variety of topics including assignments, study guides,
helpful resources, and skill practice. Teacher websites can also be accessed through our school

Cell Phones: Students may not use phones during any graded assignments. Students will be
asked to put their phones away during all tests. If a student has a phone out during a test it will
be considered cheating. Cell phones can only be used for instructional purposes at the teachers
discretion.
