Hello!!!!

I am excited to start my first year at Virgin Valley Elementary School. My name is Mrs. Suzanne
Garlick and I will be your childs autism teacher this year. I would like to establish a classroom
of growing knowledge and acceptance. I hope that we will be able to work together to create a
successful year for your child.
I have lived in Nevada for the past 25 years. I graduated from Nevada State College. I have a
degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Special Education and a licensure in
autism. I am a wife to my wonderful husband DeWayne and we have eight incredible children.
I enjoy spending time with my family whenever I can. We love to travel and go camping. I also
love to read. I spend the majority of my summer leisure time with my head in a book.
This is my first year at Virgin Valley Elementary School. The staff has been very welcoming. I
look forward to many more wonderful years working in the Mesquite valley.
Teaching has always been a passion for me. I have a love for learning and hope my students
would learn to love learning as I do. By making my classroom a fun, safe and an engaging place
for my students, I hope they will enjoy coming to my classroom to learn something new each
day. I feel that all children are different and will require diverse learning instruction to help
them flourish. I will strive to be a teacher that looks at each childs individual strengths and
helps them build on their strengths to reach their goals. I hope to not only give your child an
education but also to help them develop a lifetime love for learning.
This year will definitely be a fun year, but as in every school year, different things will arise. I
believe that a successful school year starts with open communication between parents and
teachers. Please feel free to call me at any time 702-346-5761 extension 3068 or email me at
sgarlick@[Link] with any concerns.
I look forward to a positive and productive school year. I am excited to get to know you and
your child as we enter this new school year together.
Mrs. Garlick
