where n does not equal 0, where m and n are
integers.

A) For every positive fraction, there is a corresponding
negative fraction. Eg. and are opposites.
B) Any fraction can be written as a decimal. For every
positive decimal there is a corresponding negative
decimal. Eg. -0.75 and 0.75 are opposites.
C) Mixed numbers can also be rational numbers.
D) Repeating decimals are also rational numbers.

Irrational Numbers:
Numbers that cannot be written as fractions. Eg.
Imperfect square roots or pie.

Methods for Ordering Rational Numbers:
1) Use a number line
2) When using fractions make sure they all have a
common denominator
3) Change fractions/mixed numbers to decimals

How to change fractions to decimals:
Divide the numerator (top number) by the
denominator (bottom number).
Convert a mixed number to an improper fraction
(Multiply the whole number by the denominator
then add the numerator) then divide the numerator
by the denominator.
