What are welding program conducted at:

1. Giat MARA?
Kursus Teknologi Kimpalan & Fabrikasi Logam e.g Pusat Giat MARA Paka
i. 2 Modules are introduced: "Mengimpal Kumai Lurus Pada Keluli Dalam Kedudukan
Rata" and "Mengimpal besi Hollow" through Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
according to Standard American Society (AWS)
After completion, the certificate can be used to apply for the Kimpalan 6G MARA-PETRONAS 3-months
where students will get:
1. Sijil Tamat Latihan dari IKM Kota Kinabalu.
2. Sijil Kelayakan mengimpal 6G dan 5G dalam tiga kategori :-
a. Sijil layak mengimpal 6G (GTAW Proses) paip 2 in.
b. Sijil layak mengimpal 5G Cellulose (Downhill position) paip 16 in.
c. Sijil layak mengimpal 6G (Combination GTAW / SMAW) paip 8 in.
3. Sijil Kursus Keselamatan dan CPR
4. Sijil Pipe System
All certificates are issued by PETRONAS after students have fulfilled the testing requirement conducted
by a recognized testing body (Acknowledged by the Malaysian Government & The Welding Institute UK).
Here students will then have the opportunity to work in any welding company that need welders for
pipelines project, onshore or offshore.

2. ILP
Sijil Kimpalan ILP
Level 1
- Shielded Metal Arc Welder (Carbon Steel) - Apply safety practices and procedures, read drawings
and specification, manage materials and consumables, perform thermal and mechanical cutting,
prepare joints / materials for welding, perform welding using SMAW process, perform quality
control / inspection
Level 2
- Shielded Metal Arc Welder (Carbon Steel & Stainless Steel)
- Gas Tungsten Arc Welder (Carbon Steel & Stainless Steel)
Read drawings and specification, perform thermal and mechanical cutting, perform pre-heating
process, perform welding using SMAW process, perform quality control / inspection, perform
welding using GTAW process.
After completion, they can apply for Kimpalan 6G & 6GR JTM-PETRONAS 10 weeks program.
