Convert Arrow Stroke to Shape in Illustrator

1. To unite two objects with arrowheads into one shape, first convert the path to an outline stroke, then use the Pathfinder palette to unite them. 2. If converting to an outline stroke removes the arrowheads, expand the appearance of the line to separate the arrowheads as individual shapes. 3. Unite the three resulting shapes using the Pathfinder palette to combine them into one object.

First you will have to convert the arrow from a path / stroke into a

shape object. Do this by selecting Object -> Path ->


Outline Stroke.
Open the Pathfinder palette (Window -> Pathfinder) and with the two
items selected alt-click on the Unite button - its the first one that
looks like two squares united into one.
