Overview of Protein Synthesis Process

Messenger RNA is transcribed in the nucleus from DNA and transports genetic coding to the cytoplasm. There, ribosomes attach to mRNA and use transfer RNA to bring amino acids to the mRNA codons. The amino acids bond together through peptide bonds forming a polypeptide chain. This process of protein synthesis continues until a stop codon is reached, creating a complete protein.
