Police in Quebec City stopped a vehicle containing Hell's Angels supporters on October 15th, 2008. During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered a jamming device in the car door which prevented them from calling for backup over the radio or cellphone within 5 meters. The occupants admitted to purchasing the jamming device online. Police seized the device and warned of these types of signal jammers.

Jamming Device

SAFETY: On October 15th, 2008, Quebec City Police stopped a vehicle that contained Hells Angels supporters. As the stop progressed, police were conducting a search of the vehicle when they discovered an unknown device within the car door. They attempted to call for further police assistance/backup but were unable to transmit over the air. Investigation revealed that the device located within the vehicle prohibits radio or cellular transmissions if within 5 meters of the device. The occupants admitted to have purchased the device on ebay. It was seized by police. Please be aware of these jamming devices.
