Engineering Problem Solving Strategy

A 3-step strategy is presented for engineering problem solving: 1) Identify the technique to solve the problem by listing knowns and unknowns. 2) Apply the technique to a sample problem with a known answer from class materials. 3) If the answer is incorrect, rethink the technique by consulting references; otherwise apply it to problems with unknown answers and use sanity checks to validate the reasonableness of the solution.
