Graphing Linear Inequalities in Algebra 2.6

This document provides steps for graphing linear inequalities in two variables. It begins by outlining the general steps: write the inequality in slope-intercept form by solving for y, graph the boundary line as either a dashed or solid line depending on the inequality symbol, and shade either above or below the boundary line depending on if y is greater than or less than. It then provides examples of graphing various inequalities, including horizontal, vertical, and slanted lines. The document concludes by assigning practice problems from the textbook.

Linear Inequalities in
Two Variables

1
Steps for Graphing Inequalities
 Write in Slope-Intercept Form
 Get y by itself. (Solve for y)
 Graph boundary line
 Dashed line for < or >
 Solid line < or >
 Shade above or below line
 If y is greater than (>), shade above
 If y is less than (<), shade below

Exception to these steps is vertical lines (x = c)
