CHARACTERS: George The detective Ben Georges apprentice Summer Jacobs Wife of the deceased The scene starts with Summer forcefully/reluctantly sitting down in her chair (she looks panicked). The two detectives walk in the room after her. George stands slouching his arms on the chair with Ben standing directly behind in the dark shadows. George takes his hat off and puts it on the table. The two detectives recognise that Summer looks exhausted. Ben hands George a file, he scans through it quickly and then looks up at Summer she is shaking with nerves and look suspicious.

George: Mrs Jacobs are you aware at why weve called you in today Summer remains silent and looks down sniffling. George: Can you tell me where you were on the night of your husbands decease? Summer continues to look down fiddling with her fingers and filling with tears. George: (Agitated and impatient) Miss Jacobs do I need to remind you why youre here? Summer: (Angrily) I dont need to answer your questions. He was my husband, I loved him! Summer collapses on her arms onto the table in an eruption of tears. George remains emotionless whilst getting up to walk round the table to her side putting one hand on the table and leans down patronisingly towards her. George: Mrs Jacobs, you claim your husband was having an affair to the lead up to the murder, why is this? Summer composes herself quicker than expected. She smirks and sniggers. Summer: (looking down at her hands) Well it wasnt too hard to guess, why else would he have been sneaking, and staying out so late? I may be pretty detective but Im no fool when it comes to (look under her eyelids at ben) a mans behaviour Ben smiles to himself behind George. He then realises what hes doing and trys to remain professional. Summer: (still focusing on ben) Whats your name? George: Were not here for a get together Mrs Jacobs.

Summer: (gestures to George) How do Stand being around someone like him day and night? George becomes impatient and aggressive after the side-track of the interview. He has developed a disliking to Summer and raises his voice. George: Mrs Jacobs (fades and becomes hard to hear with a high pitched piercing monotone drone over the top) this is not a time to be messing about. As you previously stated it is your husband. Summer begins to appear woozy and zoned out. She appears very unwell and extremely tired. In a glazey fog George gestures for Ben to get help as he runs out the room George goes to catch her as she collapses. In her mind she is falling from George, as she believe he doesnt get there in time (however realistically he does). This is the beginning of the dream sequence.
